The ALTA Conference Committee invites proposals for panels and roundtables for ALTA46: "The Place of Translation," from November 8-11, 2023 in Tucson, Arizona. The deadline to propose a panel or roundtable is June 20, 2023. 

We know that the ability to converse with fellow conference-goers is an important hallmark of ALTA programming. This year, you'll be able to propose either 4-person panels, as well as roundtables organized by 2-3 organizers (and involving 12-13 participants who sign up to participate). ALTA's Bilingual Reading Series is your chance to share published or unpublished English translations with our supportive community!

In 2023, in-person Bilingual Readings are back in person at ALTA46 in Tucson, AZ from November 8-11, 2023. There are six 8-minute slots for each Bilingual Reading, which allows for 2-minute transitions between readers. Reading slots are first-come, first-served, with priority given to ALTA members. Please only sign up for one reading in 2023. You may read even if you are also on an ALTA46 panel. 

The deadline to sign up is July 31, 2023.

This year's conference bookfair is being run in partnership with the University of Arizona Bookstore, as a popup event. To request a title for the ALTA46 bookfair, please fill out this form by August 1, 2023. Please note that titles must be published within the past five years, returnable, and distributed in the U.S.
