ALTA Conference Wayfinders
If you want to know you'll have a friendly face waiting for you in Rochester, or if you want to be a first-timer's reliable conference guide, join the ALTA Conference Wayfinders! Our conference is growing, and as we see attendance increase, we know you want ALTA42 to be as warm, welcoming, and intimate an experience as we do. Fill out this form by October 21, 2019, and we'll pair up translators coming to the conference for the first time with those who know it best.

Work Exchange Program
If you are interested in volunteering at ALTA42, click here! Approved volunteers receive free registration in return for their hard work, and we are unable to provide refunds for previously purchased registrations so please wait on purchasing your conference registration if you intend to apply. But don't worry! Applications close Friday, September 13, and applicants will be notified if they have been accepted before Early Bird Registration closes on October 7, 2019.

Flash/Pitch Sessions
ALTA is excited for the return of Flash Sessions for editors and translators at our 42nd annual conference! Applications are open on our Submittable page and will close on Friday, September 27. Interested translators will have the chance to discuss a short sample of their work with an editor from a prominent publication. Translators will be paired with a participating editor for a 10-15 minute meeting to receive feedback on up to two pages of their work.  And this year, we are also pleased to announce the introduction of Pitch Sessions for editors and translators! Translators will be paired with a participating editor or publisher from a prominent translation press for a 5-minute meeting to pitch a project. Sign-ups will open on Tuesday, August 20 and will close on Friday, September 27. Take advantage of this chance to show off your work!
