There are lots of ways to get involved at ALTA43. Please consider the following options, and check back for more as conference programming develops.

Get conference updates, plan local events, find friends, and share events you're excited about in our ALTA Conferences Facebook Group.
What it's all about! Registration for ALTA43 is now open.
Mark your calendars to join your fellow translators, declaimers, and enthusiasts on Friday, October 2, 2020 for our annual evening of Declamación…the first virtual installment! You must recite (or sing) from memory (no reading). Time allotment is 5 minutes. To sign up, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with information about what/by whom/from where/in which language you plan to recite, and a one-line bio (and/or any questions you might have). If you would like to be on the list, please let Barbara know by September 1.
Want to receive one-on-one feedback from an editor? Be sure to register at the $125 or $200 rate for the chance to join a workshop with an established translator, and to meet with editors for two individual Pitch Sessions. The deadline to register at these rates and participate in pitch sessions was August 31, 2020. Information about how to sign up for a workshop and pitch sessions will be sent to all registrants at the $125 and $200 levels on September 1.
Spread the word about your press, program, book, and more through an ALTA43 sponsorship. View sponsorship options here to reach our exclusive audience of translators, educators, students, editors, publishers, and readers of literary translation! Leveled sponsorships closed on August 28, 2020.
Drop-in Translator Happy Hours
ALTA has reached max capacity for planning virtual happy hours during our conference, and the proposal form closed on August 25, 2020. You are welcome to plan your own virtual meetup, and if you'd like to send event info to Communications and Awards Manager Rachael Daum, we can help publicize it through ALTA's social media.
Requests for titles to be included in the conference bookfair closed on August 17, 2020.
ALTA's bookfair is always a celebration of the work of our community. During our virtual 2020 conference, ALTA is using Bookshop.org to highlight member translations and the titles published by translation presses. Many translations distributed through Small Press Distribution will also be available for sale at a discount on SPD's website during the conference dates. Finally, books not available through either Bookshop or SPD will be included in a pdf posted to our conference website.
